The starters were decent, but all the first and second courses were pretty bad - pasta and rice in risotto were overcooked (pretty shockingly) and fried calamari were too oily and chewy. Inside they have a pizza oven and it gets super hot, so better ask for a table outside.

Il Vecchio e Il Mare

Lovely little restaurant off the Main Street. The food was tasty, but risotto was very very over cooked. The involtini costing was good, but soggy in areas.

We had a fabulous meal with exquisitely prepared food and impeccable welcoming service. Highlights include the Mediterranean Fish Tartar, Spaghetti Vongole and the traditional Cefalu dessert, Biancu Manciari. There&#39;s a very nice selection of wines by the glass, all very reasonably priced. We elected to be seated outside by a fountain and were charmed by the lovely setting. Our dinner at Porta Terra was the highlight, so far, of our time on Sicily and we agree with its lofty ratings on this and other review sites. Highly recommend.

Very good ambience as we dined in the courtyard. Staff was attentive. The caponata was delicious, the grilled swordfish was fresh and the seafood risotto was good!

Excellent food. Although I am an omnivore and my wife a pescatarian/vegetarian we decided to give their vegetarian tasting menu a try (something different from the usual traditional restaurant offering) and they really came through with great food. Kudos as well for their recommendation of a very reasonably priced (and good) bottle of wine - not a usual feature at the upper echelons of fine dining.

Food was okay. We had Pizza and Gnocchi with Burrata. Since there wasn&rsquo;t really Burrata I was a bit dissatisfied. Pizza was really good. Service was also okay. We had 4 different waiters and nobody asked if we want a dessert or anything else. So we left after our main course.

Great little restaurant.  We went on a Sunday evening and it was quiet.  We had the slow cooked ragu in pasta rolls (can&rsquo;t remember the Italian name) and it was absolutely delicious. The tiramisu is a must!  Great service too.

Food was not tasty and very salty. Service was poor.

Eng:Seafood restaurant very close to the sea, we booked a table for 7 people on the 15th august (a holiday in Itlay). The service was very slow, we waited an hour for the first dishes, and they didn&#39;t even arrived all together, same story for the second dishes. The food was the most disappointing part of the dinner: the fish was tasteless (a big issue in a seafood restaurant). The only tasteful part of the dishes were the sauces, but dishes like &quot;tartares&quot; had absolutely no taste. The staff was kind enough, but the absolute lack of quality in the food makes this restaurant a restaurant where we will never go back again, the idea we have about this restaurant is that it is a restaurant for tourists, ti be avoided if you are looking for quality in the food.ITA:Locale di pesce a pochi metri dal mare, abbiamo prenotato un tavolo per 7 a ferragosto. Ogni piatto &egrave; curato nei particolari. Il pesce &egrave; fresco e il personale molto cordiale. L&#39;unico consiglio di essere pi&ugrave; celeri in cucina anche se alla base c&#39;&egrave; la preparazione al momento dei piatti, un po&#39; dovreste anticipare qualche preparato affinch&egrave; possiate essere pi&ugrave; veloci.Ambiente molto accogliente e pulito. Tutto molto buono. assolutamente consigliato

Every dish is treated in detail. The fish is fresh and the staff is very friendly. The only advice to be faster in the kitchen even if the base is the preparation at the time of the dishes, you should anticipate some preparations so that you can be faster.Very comfortable and clean environment. All very good. absolutely recommended
